Verbs in Present TenseMost verbs in present tense add -s or -es when speaking of one person or one thing. The -s is not added when the subject is a plural noun, or the pronouns I or you.
Example: I run. You run. We run. They run. Horses run. He runs. She runs. It runs. The white horse runs across the field.

Verbs in Past TenseMost verbs add -ed to change them to past. When making a question or a negative sentence, use the word "did" instead of adding an -ed.
Example: I learned a new word in English. I didn't learn any words in Chinese. What language did you learn? Some verbs are irregular. Instead of adding -ed, the whole word changes. Example: We go to school every day. Yesterday we went to school early. |
